3D Imaging

We have offered in house 3D imaging for diagnostic and treatment purposes since 2010. We are always looking for ways to improve those capabilities. That’s why we have invested in the CS 8100 3D Imaging system from Carestream Dental. It features breakthrough innovations that enable us to scan our patients quickly, accurately and comfortably. The CS 8100 3D enables us to obtain the 2D and 3D images we need without requiring you to visit an outside imaging center.

Advanced Technology

The system captures images very quickly, allowing our patients to experience a fast, smooth scanning process. In addition, the system’s open design with face-to-face positioning reduces the feeling of confinement. Because they are more comfortable during the scanning process, patients are less likely to move and cause blurring, which can create the need to rescan.

Highly Detailed Images

The CS 8100 3D features high image resolution, which provides us with an unprecedented level of anatomical insight and enables us to diagnose more confidently. The sharp, highly detailed and contrasted images provide patients with a unique view of their dental structure and helps them see exactly what Dr. Nicosia sees. Patients can then feel more comfortable with their treatment decisions. All these features result in better information, safer scans and more informed diagnoses. We feel that this new imaging system helps us significantly enhance what matters to us most; patient care. Schedule an appointment today to learn about this technology and other services that we provide.

What is X-Guide Dynamic 3D Navigation?

The industry-leading X-Guide® surgical system paired with Cone Beam 3D imaging allows us to provide our patients with the most accurate implant surgery. With X-Guide Navigated surgery, Dr. Nicosia utilizes live, 3D of anatomy – this provides real time directions during your procedure to place the implant exactly where it should be. His control and precision over the entire implant process is elevated.

How it Works?

Dr. Nicosia will pre-plan the ideal implant location based on your unique anatomy using advanced software. During your surgery, he will utilize a small, lightweight X-Clip in your mouth that matches to this digital plan with a specialized radiation-free camera system. During your procedure, he has a 3D view of your anatomy including jawbone, soft tissue, surrounding teeth, as well as the digital treatment plan to follow, allowing for minimally invasive access. The X-guide navigation technology provides Dr. Nicosia with turn-by-turn guidance along the surgical path, like a road map on your GPS except with a tolerance of less than one millimeter. X-Guide’s advanced technology allows Dr. Nicosia to make the most precise adjustments considering surrounding structures with greater accuracy for a better outcome with less discomfort.
